Purpose of This is How We Roll™
The concept of This is How We Roll™ is founded on efforts to provide economic growth to the city of Detroit locally and nationally similar to Chicago’s and New York’s activities while also providing and enjoyable event for all citizens. This event is different from other car shows and cruises because it will encompass live concerts, local and national entertainment celebrities, a diverse crowd, special events for families to participate in together, a special ladies nights, numerous kiddie corner events, delicious foods and will provide an opportunity for Detroit to show itself as an enjoyable place to live and visit in a safe and friendly environment. Proceeds from This is How we Roll™ will be directed towards local charities that provide services to the citizens of Detroit and Michigan. This landmark event will highlight the City of Detroit as an excellent tourist attraction that will provide increased revenues for Detroit and Michigan. Local vendors may display their talents and services. Local restaurants, hotels, shopping malls and the city transportation among others will greatly benefit from this.
This is How We Roll™ is the first event to combine car cruising, car showing and live entertainment from national celebrities with national live remotes by TV and radio. National Entertainment Celebrities participating in this event will also showcase their automobiles. In an Oakland County economic impact study conducted by the organizers from the Woodward Dream Cruise, the effects of an event of this magnitude on businesses ranging from retailers to restuaranteurs, and from lodging to gas stations estimated at over $55 million for that one day event. Also according to that study, for many businesses, an event of this magnitude generated the highest single-day revenue of the year.
Event Media Coverage and Promotion
National advertisement for the event via national remotes including several local radio stations, Clear Channel Radio Station, which broadcasts in Atlanta, Chicago and Los Angeles and Championship Auto Racing Teams, Inc. (CART) Radio Network which broadcasts to all Raceway Circuits. Media, including ESPN, ABC, TNN, MTV and BET will provide full coverage for the event. A specially designed website to promote the event will also provide information and details concerning the event. This event is scheduled to broadcast to other television audiences regionally and nationally and a potential of $1.8 million in promotion and advertising.
